چکیده

The use of secondary mining resources to replace conventional constituents in mortars production has proved the effectiveness preserve quality mechanical, physical, and chemical properties. However, minimal research been performed quantify environmental impacts with residues. In present work, a life cycle assessment 10 was carried out. A reference mortar (100% cement binder) substitutions 10%, 25%, 50% by raw, electrodialytic treated, plus thermal treated residues were analysed. studied six categories: (1) abiotic depletion; (2) global warming; (3) ozone (4) photochemical creation; (5) acidification; (6) eutrophication potentials. results demonstrated that formulated raw may decrease impacts, namely warming potential (55.1 kg CO2 eq./t modified mortar). Considering treatments applied residues, major mitigations reported creation (−99%), depletion (−76 −98%), acidification (−90 −94%), mainly due disposal avoided comparison mortar. Analysing all mortars’ their management options, products showed higher influence (18 52%). Coupling procedure, contributed for 99% mortars.

Discovering Life Cycle Assessment Trees using Data Mining

In recent years, environmental sustainability has received widespread attention due to continued depletion of natural resources and degradation of the environment. Life cycle assessment (LCA) is a methodology for quantifying multiple environmental impacts of a product, across its entire life cycle – from creation to use to discard. The key object of interest in LCA is the inventory tree, with t...

Physico-Mechanical Properties of Organo-Modified Bentonite Reinforced Cement Mortars

It is demonstrated that the addition of organo-modified Na-bentonite (OMB) particles to Portland cement mortar can promote its physical and mechanical properties. A series of experimental works on some important physico-mechanical properties of Portland cement mortars mixed with various dosages of hydrophobic OMB were performed. The obtained results confirm that the OMB provides a dense packing...

Changes in Properties of Cement and Lime Mortars When Incorporating Fibers from End-of-Life Tires

This paper studies the addition of fibers from end-of-life tires to commercial mortar mixtures. Two different types of mortar, one lime-plastic and other cement-fluid, are mixed with different percentage of fibers ranging from 0% to 1%. The changes in bulk density, consistency, compressive and flexural strength, dynamic Young modulus and water absorption are studied. According to the results, c...
